David G. Leibold, DDS, MD

Dr. Leibold is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio and continues with private clinical practice of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.  He received his D.D.S. degree from West Virginia University School of Dentistry in 1969.  He entered advanced training at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio where he earned a M.D. degree, with honors and completed specialty training in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Immediately upon completion of training he remained in San Antonio and began full time private practice in 1975.  He was appointed to the UTHSCSA clinical faculty.   Dr. Leibold is a diplomate of The American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and is a member of many prestigious professional organizations.  They include: Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society, The American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, Texas Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, Texas Medical Association, and The Bexar County Medical Society.  Dr. Leibold is on the staff of most San Antonio area hospitals and serves as the section chief of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the Baptist Medical Center and the Santa Rosa Hospital.  He is past president of the Texas Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons.

Dr. Leibold joined the graduate faculty of the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in 1999 and continues in private practice.  His main area of interest is direct patient care and cosmetic facial surgery.
