Captain (Ret USN) Jim L. Burk, DDS

Dr. Jim L. Burk, Jr., a native of Burnet, Texas, resides with his wife, Ann, at their home in Fair Oaks Ranch, Texas. The Burk's have 6 children and nine grandchildren. Dr.Burk graduated from the University of Texas with a Pharmacy degree in 1960, Baylor University College of Dentistry in 1964, and completed Post-doctoral and residency training in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of Texas Health Science Center, Southwestern, Dallas, Texas in 1973. Dr. Burk is a member of Omicron Kappa Upsilon a Fellow in the American College of Dentist and is a Diplomat of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Dr. Burk holds the rank of Captain and is retired from the United States Navy. His military service includes two tours of duty in Viet Nam, The National Defense Citation and the Navy Unit Commendation. Dr. Burk has authored numerous scientific publications and made presentations to state, national and international professional organizations of which he is a member. Dr. Burk was in private practice as an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon for 25 years in San Angelo, Texas prior to joining the faculty of the University of Texas Health Science Center San Antonio where he serves as Associate Professor of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Jim and Ann are active in their church and spend available leisure time enjoying their grandchildren.
